Plier-style clippers with curved stainless steel blades and a spring that opens them after each cut. The long two-tone handles are plastic with a soft rubber grip, so they sit comfortably in your hand.
Hold your dog's paw gently, find the pink quick inside the nail (or the start of it on a dark nail), and take small slices from the tip, well clear of it. Little and often is easier for both of you than one big trim.
